Andy Kim (N.J.) and Elizabeth Warren (Mass.) ahead of a full Senate vote on her confirmation. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPresident Trump believes that the bureaucracy in Washington should be abolished so that we can return education to the states, where it belongs,\u201d&nbsp;McMahon wrote to the senators.&nbsp;&#8220;I wholeheartedly support and agree with this mission.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>The statement does not come as a surprise, as McMahon made it clear during her confirmation hearing she believed the <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/education\/5143374-linda-mcmahon-trump-education-department-cassidy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">department should be abolished<\/a> and its core tasks moved to other agencies. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Last week, McMahon was confirmed by the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions in a <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/education\/5154977-trump-education-department-linda-mcmahon-senate-committee-vote\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">party-line vote<\/a>, sending her to a full Senate vote to become the secretary of the department.<\/p>\n<p>With Republicans in control of the upper chamber, it is likely she will be confirmed. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLinda McMahon has made clear her top responsibility is complete and total loyalty to President Trump, including her openness to dissolve the very department she would be confirmed to run,\u201d&nbsp;Kim said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs the administration\u2019s illegal funding freeze threatens already scarce resources for schools and critical programs, her blind loyalty is dangerous.
